This past October Sarah Leath and I hosted a two-day seminar “360 Review of Your Accounts Receivable” to a sold-out room with people coming from 18 states! We reviewed the coding and billing guidelines for OMS, as well as ways to use your software to help you with your A/R process. We had a blast! Below you will find some of the new codes that will be effective in CDT as of January 1, 2024. Make sure to add them to your practice management software and use them in upcoming treatment plans having procedures done in 2024. If you are doing dental sleep medicine, there are lots of new codes here for you to review:
D0396: 3D printing of a 3D dental surface scan
D6089: accessing and retorquing loose implant screw – per screw
D7284: excisional biopsy of minor salivary glands
D7939: indexing for osteotomy using dynamic robotic assisted dynamic navigation
D9954: fabrication and delivery of oral appliance therapy (OAT) morning repositioning device
D9955: oral appliance therapy (OAT) titration visit
D9956: administration of home sleep apnea test
D9957: screening for sleep related breathing disorders

Also, keep in mind that as of 2024 the ADA will have a new claim form. Be sure to check it out and contact your carriers and software vendors regarding implementation.
